Make plans to join us at Leon’s Live in Marysville Thursday, March 2nd from 7-11pm for the 2023 Qfm96 House Band Finals. $5 gets you in the door and the 2022 Qfm96 House Band, The Groove, will pass the torch by kicking off the evening.  At the end of the night, one band will be crowned the “2023 Qfm96 House Band” and receive:

  • $1500 in store credit at Music Go Round Columbus.
  • A Qfm96 PR package throughout 2023.
  • Booked performances at three or more Qfm96 events.
  • A Qfm96.com web page to promote gigs & direct traffic to your social media and booking info through 2023.

The 2023 Qfm96 House Band Finals start at 7:00pm Thursday, March 2nd at Leon’s Live in Marysville, central Ohio’s newest music Venue! This event will fill up fast. Additional parking is available behind the venue off of 4th street.

 

 


 

2023 Qfm96 House Band Contest – Official Contest Rules

From 12am Monday, February 6, 2023, and 11:59pm Thursday, February 16, 2023, listeners 21 and over may enter via Qfm96.com by reading and accepting the official contest rules, completing the online entry form with full name, full address, date of birth, phone number, email address, and submitting your band’s name, a band photo, bio, a cover song mp3, and a video web link or video file of your band performing a song. Submissions may also be dropped off during regular business hours via CD or DVD at 4401 Carriage Hill Lane, Columbus, OH 43220. Entries containing inappropriate photos or music will be disqualified. Any video submitted to WLVQ will become the property of WLVQ and may be used in any manner it feels appropriate in the future. No use of indecent or obscene material, no content or material that is illegal, contains nudity, or is sexually explicit, or by law, obscene, profane, or pornographic is permitted. By entering this contest, you are verifying that you are the owner and producer of the submitted material and that no third-party ownership rights exist to the materials submitted. One entry per band. Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the stated number of entries allowed by using the same, multiple/different email addresses, identities, or any other methods void that participant’s entries, and that participant may be disqualified. In the event of a dispute as to any online registration, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address used to register will be deemed to be the registrant and he/she must be eligible according to these official rules. No mechanically reproduced or automated entries are permitted. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification and all such entries will be deemed void. The winner will be chosen at the sole discretion of Qfm96.

First Round: Friday, February 17, 2023; Four (4) Finalist bands will be decided upon by a panel of Qfm96 staff based upon online or in-person submissions of talent/technical proficiency, vocals, music ability, resume/professionalism, and existing/potential fan base.

Final Round: Thursday, March 2, 2023, 7:00pm-11:00pm; Four (4) Finalist bands will be required to attend and perform a Qfm96 event at Leon’s Garage (326 E 5th St, Marysville, OH 43040). Each band’s performance will be judged by Qfm96 staff based on talent/technical proficiency, vocals, music ability, resume/professionalism, and existing/potential fan base. Using the criteria of talent/technical proficiency, vocals, music ability, resume/professionalism, and existing/potential fan base Qfm96 Staff will make a consensus decision to determine the winner. Entrants’ inability to attend the final round will automatically disqualify such entrants.

The winning band will be designated as the 2023 Qfm96 House Band for an estimated 12-month engagement. The winning band will receive a $1,500 store credit from Music Go Round Columbus, a WLVQ on-site appearance package valued at $1,000, on-air exposure on Qfm96 through a minimum of 300 promotional announcements valued at approximately $67,500, and a band web page on Qfm96.com where the winning band can post show dates, and songs to be downloaded. We will make reasonable efforts to award the Prize within 30 days after winning.

The winning band agrees to play a maximum of six (6) no charge shows for Qfm96 between 3/3/2023 and 3/3/2024. Qfm96 will also make its best efforts to work with the winning band in scheduling these dates with as much advance notice as possible. Known appearances are listed below:

  2. Qfm96 Bike Night at Leon’s Live / Time & Date TBD
  3. Qfm96 Beat *ichigan Breakfast Club Friday, November 24th from 6am-11am
  4. Qfm96 Backlot Bash at The Varsity Club Date / Time TBD
  5. Additional Date/Time TBD
  6. Additional Date/Time TBD

The total approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is $2,500.00.

For any contests involving live performances or events, winners will need to follow all COVID guidelines and protocols put in place by the event organizer.

Qfm96 contests are open to all eligible Columbus, OH listeners 21 or older that have not won anything on Qfm96 in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named. The winner will be responsible for any applicable federal and state taxes as well as all fees associated with the prize. The winner must have a valid state ID and complete an IRS Form W-9 to collect the prize. If the prize winner declines acceptance of any of the prizes, an alternate winner will be chosen.

Employees of Qfm96, Franklin Communications, Inc., and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one-hundred-mile radius of the Qfm96 main studio are not eligible to win any contest.  Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is the current legal guardian.

We will make reasonable efforts to award prizes within 30 days after winning. The station’s sole responsibility will be to award the Prize and will have no further responsibility in connection with the Grand Prize if the prize winner, for any reason, cannot or decides not to use the Prize. The Grand Prize cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash. Qfm96’s sole responsibility will be to award the prize and will have no further responsibility in connection with the Prize if the Grand Prize winner, for any reason, cannot or decides not to use the Prize.  The winner will be responsible for any applicable federal and state taxes and must complete an IRS Form W-9..  Contest rules may be altered at any time.  No purchase necessary.  The winner will be responsible for all fees and incidentals.
