CW Columbus 2020 Honda Thursday Night Lights Schedule Announced
Columbus, Ohio – After a summer of uncertainty, the 2020 Ohio High School football season kicks off on the CW Columbus and Honda’s Thursday Night Lights presented by Columbus State Community College. This year, the CW Columbus is giving football fans a double dose of the best high school football matchups. A ten-game schedule featuring some of the best varsity teams in central Ohio can be seen on both Thursday and Friday nights starting on August 27th at 7pm.
Even though the Coronavirus pandemic will create limited seating capacity inside high school football stadiums this fall. Families and fans will still get to see their favorites schools play live and for free on the CW Columbus. Each broadcast will also be streamed on www.cwcolumbus.com, powered by the Kroger Distribution Center, providing a great opportunity for out of town family and friends to watch every play of every Thursday Night Lights game.
“Honda’s Thursday Night Lights is Central Ohio ticket to live high school football”, said Tony D’Angelo, Vice President and General Manager of the CW Columbus, ABC 6 and FOX 28. “It makes me proud to know that we are providing the only free broadcast of the best games that everyone in Central Ohio can see. Taking our commitment to student athletics, our local schools and the viewers of Central Ohio a step farther.”
Honda’s Thursday Night Lights is entering its ninth season and features premiere high school football on Thursday nights. This season, the CW Columbus will be providing special Friday night editions of Thursday Night Lights, giving hungry fans more of what they want. In addition to the games, every Thursday Night Lights broadcast recognizes outstanding scholar athletics from each school for their academic and community achievements. High school football games would not be complete without the contributions of marching bands. That’s why halftime of every Thursday Night Lights game is dedicated to profiling the home high school marching band and their upcoming events, in the Music Go Round Marching Band Sound halftime show.
“2020 has been a very tough year for kids and their families”, said Randy Rhinehart, Thursday Night Lights Play-by-Play Announcer. “I am proud to be a part of a broadcast that provides a positive distraction to Central Ohio and features the achievements of student athletes on and off the field.”
In addition to the Honda Thursday Night Lights broadcasts, fans have another great opportunity to feed their need for football this fall. First Scores on FOX 28 sponsored by Spectrum is central Ohio’s first chance to see final scores from games being played on Friday night. Hosted by FOX 28 Sports Director Clay Hall, First Scores on FOX 28 is the only high school wrap up show to deliver all of the night’s biggest plays, biggest stars and final scores to you first, every Friday night at 10:45pm on FOX 28.
