Columbus almost saw one of it’s cornerstone staples taken away a few years ago as the Columbus Crew were set to be sold and re-located to another destination, thus putting an end to the Columbus Crew soccer team and an era of professional soccer here in Ohio. Well it was all put to rest by 19 people and the author of the book that tells the whole tale, Pete McGinty, joined the show to talk about how it all unfolded to how the residual effects of the team staying and how it has boosted Columbus’ local economy and much more.
The host of NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior”, Matt Iseman, joined the show to promote the new season of ANW as well as how he has been spending his time during the pandemic. Matt also talked with us about his former comedy days and how he and Craig Robinson tried to make a comedy special but it didn’t turn out the way they thought.
Comedy great & SNL Alum, Kevin Nealon, joined the show to promote his new comedy special “Kevin Nealon: Behind the Mask” which is dropping on RushTix.com. Kevin also talked about his YouTube series show “Hiking with Kevin” and some of the great comedians he’s had on as well as his days on SNL.
Legendary Hollywood director, David Zucker, joined the show to promote the 40th anniversary of his comedy parody film “Airplane”. David also talked with us as to how he goes about his creative process and some of his best memories filming over the years.
Psychic medium, Matt Fraser from E! Network hit show “Meet The Frasers” joined the show to talk about his psychic abilities and how he introduces himself to skeptics. Matt also gave us a live read on the air and he talked about how he has stayed busy during the pandemic.
Following his 3rd place finish in the IndyCar 500 over the weekend, Columbus native Graham Rahal joined the show to talk about the controversial finish under caution as well as how his team did with his racing partner finishing in 1st place and how he stays competitive and what certain tactics they take in the midst of a race. Graham also told us some of his favorite racing movies and things you might not know a race car driver does before a race.
Our buddy & CEO of the Rock & Roll H.O.F, Greg Harris joined the show to catch us up on everything going on at the Rock Hall up in Cleveland as well as some of the new features at the Hall despite the pandemic, such as a virtual concert stage with recorded archives of concerts from the past as well as an education program for students and teachers that could use help with learning at home.
Famous rocker & our buddy, James Young of Styx joined the show to promote their new single titled “These Are the Times”. James talked about how he has continued to make music and creative content during the pandemic & he shared some of his stories from the rock band days.
Our friend of the program, former Buckeye & NFL linebacker, Chris Spielman, joined us to talk about the Big Ten’s decision to postpone the Fall sports season for all Big Ten schools. Chris, a former Ohio State football player, sports commentator and father to a collegiate athlete, has been very vocal about the Big Ten’s decision ands how it is hurting the futures of student athletes and their careers.
Our friend of the program & retired CDC infectious disease specialist, Dr. Murray Cohen, joined us yet again to catch us up on the coronavirus and how we can best combat it. We talked about the importance of kids going back to school, what it means for bars and restaurants to be closed by 10:00 PM and what it means for people to not only wear a mask but what PPE gear is necessary and which is useless.
