COLUMBUS – Kyle Manzardo’s two-run home run was the highlight of the Clippers’ six-run third inning as Columbus beat thr Omaha Storm Chasers 8-3 Thursday at Huntington Park.
Brett de Geus (0-2) took over a scoreless game from starter Daniel Lynch IV and retired the first two batters he faced before the wheels came off.
De Heus left the mound six hits, two walks and a stolen base later with the Clippers leading 6-0.
Johnathan Rodríguez hit a solo homer for Columbus while Oscar Gonzalez and Daniel Schneemann each collected tw RBI.
Joey Cantillo (6-4) allowed two runs on three hits and walked six in five innings of work.
