COLUMBUS – Two men died in separate incidents over the weekend, raising the year’s total of homicides in Columbus to 117.
A man found suffering from gunshot wounds at 4027 Southpoint Boulevard at 12:32 p.m. Friday died later OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, Sgt. Eric Pilya of the Homicide Unit said
UPDATE 7/29/21 7:03 a.m.: The victim in this shooting has been identified as Antonio Washington Jr., 33.
A male suspect, wearing a white shirt and blue jeans was seen fleeing on foot and is still at large, Pilya said.
A 44-year-old man was found on a walking path between homes in the 3300 block of Balford Square on the Southeast Side at 5:19 p.m. Saturday by officers responding to a reported shooting, Sgt. Edward Powell III said.
Despite live saving efforts by an officer, George Craft was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nine people were shot in a half-dozen incidents over the weekend, include four people shot outside Skully’s Music Diner in the Short North just after 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
After a Columbus police lieutenant working a special duty assignment in the area reported hearing multiple gunshots, officers found four victims suffering from gunshots wounds and multiple large-caliber rifle casings in the middle of N. High Street near E. 4th Avenue and in a parking lot just north of the bar, Sgt. Doug Jones of the Felony Assault Unit said.
Several cars and buildings were also struck by gunfire, Jones said.
