COLUMBUS – Suspects who carried out a violent home invasion on the West Side early Tuesday morning shot two men, one of them fatally, and beat a woman so severely she had to be hospitalized, Columbus police said.
Lee Bussey, Timothy Montgomery and Stacey Montgomery were all found inside a home on N. Warren Avenue, north of Steele Avenue, at 1:18 a.m. by officers responding to a report of several individuals injured out of a home invasion robbery, Homicide Unit detectives said.
Bussey, 30, and Timothy Montgomery, 55, had both been shot and Stacey Montgomery, 26, had suffered serious facial injuries from being physically attacked, investigators said.
Bussey died at 6:08 a.m. at Mt. Carmel West Hospital but police say the Montgomerys are expected to recover from their injuries.
This is the 46th Homicide in Columbus this year.
