COLUMBUS – A 4-year-old girl died in a single-vehicle crash on the Northeast Side early Wednesday.
Kristiana Kuhn, of Columbus, was driving northbound on Cleveland Avenue, approaching Arlington Avenue, at approximately 2:07 a.m. when she lost control of the 2008 Ford Explorer she was operating, which left the right side of the roadway, striking two utility poles Columbus police accident investigators said.
The 4-year-old, who was not restrained in a child safety seat, was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital where she died at 2:47 a.m., police said.
Kuhn was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition.
Jaime Jones, of Columbus, who was riding in the front seat, was in stable condition at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center.
Power was knocked out to about 1,500 utility customers after the accident, which is still under investigation.
