COLUMBUS – Jose Tena drove in a run and scored during the Clippers’ three-run third inning and Columbus held on to beat the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 4-2 at Huntington Park Saturday night.
The second-baseman ripped triple into right field, driving in Brayan Rocchio, then scored on a single by Kyle Manzardo. He added an RBI with a single in the fifth.
Micah Pries started the scoring in the third with his 14th home run of the season, a 409-foot solo blast off Jacksonville starter Emmanuel DeJesus (4-4).
Cal Quantrill (1-2) threw six strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings and Luis Oviedo picked up his first save of the season.
The Clippers will try to clinch a win in the six-game series Sunday afternoon.
