COLUMBUS – The Clippers scored four runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by Bryan Lavastida’s two-run double, but the Jacksonville bullpen snuffed out the rally and the Jumbo Shrimp went on to an 8-4 win at Huntington Park Thursday night.
Jake Magnum’s grand slam off Jerad Eickhoff (1-4) in the top of the fourth put the Shrimp out in front 7-0.
Columbus got four runs back in their half of the inning but Josh Simpson (1-1) and two other relievers struck out eight hitters while allowing only four hits the rest of the way.
