COLUMBUS – A man was killed and a woman injured in a double shooting that happened near the scene of two other shooting incidents in Franklinton early Friday.
Columbus police officers dispatched to 790 Canonby Place at 3:51 a.m. on a reported shooting found Emmanuel Lee Bryant, 41, lying on the steps in front of the address unresponsive and suffering from gunshot injuries, Sgt. David Shimberg of the Homicide Unit said. Bryant died later at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, the 86th homicide victim of the year.
Shortly after locating Bryant, officers found Keisha Williams, 39, suffering from a gunshot wound to her leg. Shimberg says Williams was treated at scene by Columbus paramedics and released.
Investigators were still attempting to determine a motive behind the shooting.
Two teens were shot in the same area last month.
