SYRACUSE – The Syracuse Mets jumped out to a big lead and went to beat the Clippers 9-2 in the finale of a series at NBT Bank Field Sunday afternoon.
First baseman Luke Ritter kicked off the hit parade with a two-run home run in the first inning off Cal Quantrill (0-2). Joe Suozzi and Lorenzo Cedrola added solo home runs as the Mets built a 5-0 lead.
Daniel Schneeman hit a solo home run and scored on a single by Jose Tena.
Ther Clippers return home to face the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp in a six-game series that begins Tuesday at Huntington Park.
