COLUMBUS – Newark police are looking for a 19-year-old man detectives say has ties to Columbus in connection with the shooting of a father and son Monday.
Thomas McCarty, 42, and his 20-year-old son, Shawn were shot on Glenbrook Drive Monday afternoon and taken to OSU Medical Center for treatment, said Sgt. Scott Snow of the Newark Police Department.
A warrant has been issued for Emmanuel Scott Sesley, 19, believed to have been one of two people seen driving away from the scene of the shooting in a white pickup driven by a third person.

Sesley’s last known address was on Elmwood Avenue in Newark, but Snow says he has ties to the Columbus area as well.
A 16 year old suspect was taken into custody shortly after the shootings and was questioned by detectives but Snow did not have any information on whether charges would be filed against the teen.
Officers who pursued the teenager found a firearm nearby, Snow said.
The truck is believed to be a Ford with a damaged tailgate.
Detectives believe Sesley and another suspect were driven away from the shooting scene in the truck, driven by someone described as a “younger white male.”
Police are asking the driver of this truck to contact detectives and say there is no evidence linking him directly to the shootings, Snow said.
Anyone with any information concerning the whereabouts of Emmanuel Sesley or with information on the truck or the driver is asked to contact Snow or Det. Steve Vanoy at 740-670-7209 or 740-404-8932 or Licking County Crime Stoppers at 740-349-6888.
