COLUMBUS – Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a head-on crash in Jackson Township Tuesday night that left a Hilliard woman dead.
This article has been updated to include the name of the deceased victim.
Junetta Marcel Williams Benjamin was driving westbound on State Route 665, east of Borror Road, in his 2000 Chevrolet Prizm just after 10:00 p.m. when crossed the center line and struck a 2007 Jeep head-on, Sheriff Zach Scott said.
Both drivers, who were the only people in the vehicles, were taken to Grant Medical Center where Wiliams, 22, died later, Scott said.
The driver of the Jeep — identified as Keith Olexa, 35, of Grove City — did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.
Scott says neither driver was wearing a seatbelt, it is unknown at this time if either alcohol or drugs are a factor, and this incident remains under investigation.
