Kimberling was charged with three counts of felonious assault and aggravated robbery and is in the Franklin County Jail, Baldwin said.

A caller to 911 at about 7:20 Saturday morning reported that a man had tried to break into the caller’s pickup truck on Leesburg Court and had fired a shot at the caller when the caller confronted the suspect, Baldwin said.

When deputies responded to the scene, Baldwin says Kimberling fired at a marked cruiser, hitting it multiple times, and fled on foot.

He was spotted just before 8:10 a.m. and identified by the victim as the man who broke into his truck and fired the gunshots, Baldwin said.
