ST. PAUL, Minn. – Hernan Perez’s bases-loaded, two-out sibgle in thd 10th inning delivered the winning run for the St. Paul Saints as they beat the Clippers 8-7 Thursday night at CHS Field.
The Clippers jumped out to an early lead, helped by a solo home run by Jose Tena and a three-run shot by George Valera in the first inning but the Saints overtook them with a five-run sixth inning and Perez put St. Paul in front, 7-5, with a three-run homer.
Brayan Rocchio tied the score by taking home on a wild pitch by Andrew Bechtold.
The score remained tied until Perez delivered the game-winner with a liner off Cade Smith (2-2).
Michael Boyle (4-1) allowed only one hit over the final three innings for the win.
