COLUMBUS – A man gunned down on the Southeast Side Thursday night is the 80th homicide victim of 2017 in Columbus.
Columbus officers were sent to the intersection of E. Columbus St. and Oakwood Avenue at approximately 9:05 p.m. on a report that a man had been shot and found DeShawn Marable behind a home in the 900 block of S. Champion Avenue, Homicide Unit Sgt. Stanley Latta said.
Marable, 27, was taken to Grant Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 9:28 p.m., Latta said.
Latta says investigators had no information about known suspects or motives in the shooting.
