COLUMBUS – Power hitting gave the Omaha Storm Chasers a 7-3 win over the Clippers Tuesday night in the opening game of a six-game series at Huntington Park, the final series on the Clippers’ regular season schedule.
Home runs by Jose Briceno and Nate Eaton off Columbus starter Triston McKenzie (0-1) gave the Storm Chasers a 3-1 lead and Angelo Castellano’s three-run homer put the game out of reach.
The Clippers’ only runs came on home runs by Kyle Manzardo.
Andrew Hoffman (3-3) got the win for Omaha, striking out six while giving up only one run in five innings on the mound.
