COLUMBUS – Police have arrested a suspect in a triple shooting at an East Side night club last month that left another woman dead and injured two others, including a teenager.
Amara Marie Battle was arrested Thursday by Columbus SWAT officers on a murder charge stemming from the Sept. 25 incident at Pelican Club East, in the 5500 block of E. Livingston Avenue, where 30-year-old Shamira Rhodes was killed, a 17-year-old girl was critically wounded and a 42-year-old woman was hurt, Sgt. James Marable of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.
After a fight broke out during a gathering at the scene, someone pulled at least one handgun and shots were fired striking all three victims.
Homicide victims identified
Police have released the names of two men killed on the East Side Tuesday.
Eugene Daniels III, 20, and Cameron Jordan, 22, were skilled when witnesses say an unidentified man, possibly wearing jeans, shot the two victims in the 1300 block of Atcheson Street and then fled eastbound on foot, Sgt. Eric Pilya said.
The investigation continues.
