Two arrested in co-conspirator’s death

COLUMBUS – Two men who allegedly took part in a deadly home invasion robbery on the Far West Side in two years ago have been charged with murder in the death of their accomplice, shot dead by the resident of the home.

A man who lived in an apartment on Station Street in the Lake Eden complex called 911 at 10:17 p.m. on Dec. 12, 2014, and reported that he had to shoot a person who forced their way into his home with a gun.

Officers responding to the call found Brandon Bolin, 19, inside the apartment, where he was pronounced dead.

The resident and several witnesses were interviewed at police headquarters and released, according to homicide detectives.

Dusty Thomas, 20, (pictured) was arrested on Wednesday on a murder charge in connection with Bolin’s death and the third conspirator, Michael Ruffin, 21, was arrested on Thursday.
