In the last year, airline passengers have been subject to increasingly peculiar, and sometimes shocking behaviors from fellow passengers and airline crews. Recently we’ve seen a report of a 3-year old boy throwing an 8-hour tantrum on a flight, and a another flight having to make an emergency landing due to a woman’s uncontrollable flatulence. However, the most recent flight disruption involved a woman drying a pair of underpants using the overhead air vent for all to see.

The mid-air laundry malfunction happened aboard a packed URAL Airlines flight from Antalya, Turkey to Moscow, Russia. Passengers reported and filmed an unidentified woman holding up a pair of underwear to the overhead air vent for about 20 minutes, completely oblivious to how it affected other passengers. Passengers watched in silence with interest, embarrassment, and confusion.
Who did this undergarment belong to? The woman? Her child? Why were they wet? Did they get completely dry? Sadly, these questions remain unanswered. The woman’s behavior may have been shocking, but considering she wasn’t truly bothering anyone, this act wasn’t the worst thing to happen on a flight.
