Hoof Hearted Brewery & Kitchen

Andrew Dolan, Brewmaster and General Manager of Hoof Hearted Brewery & Kitchen, stopped by the Qfm96 studio to hang with Archie during an I’d Tap That edition of the Joe Show Drive at 5. The brewery’s classic rock theme throughout its branding – especially its beers – could not have been a more perfect match-up. Each can of beer is aptly named with a reference to classic rock or cult-pop culture. Andrew brought in four beers to sample, which included

  • Florida Room, a dry-hopped Pilsner with Huell Melon Hops perfect for summer (5% abv)
  • For the Diamond Dave fans, you’ve gotta try Skittley Bittley Bop, a kettle-soured ale with raspberry, blueberry, vanilla and Hoofy Coffee notes (did we mention Hoof Hearted also roasts its own coffee?!) (4.5% abv)
  • Did we just become fwends, a New Engalnd double IPA featuring Galaxy and El Dorado hops – a hazy, creamy, citrusy experience (8% abv);
  • Why Can’t This Be Doug? – a throw to Sammy Hagar – a double-mashed stout with hazelnut, maple syrup, cacao nibs, and vanilla (13.5% abv)

Andrew gave a little history about the breweries and how he came to be involved with the Columbus location. The original Hoof Hearted Brewing opened in 2011 and is located in Marengo, Ohio. It’s the main brewery where many of the brand’s staple beers are made. The Columbus location features a full restaurant while the brewery creates more seasonal/experimental beers. The brewery also has its own pool!

If you haven’t had a chance to check out Hoof Hearted Brewery & Kitchen, you should definitely stop by Wednesdays-Sundays at 850 N. 4th St in Columbus.
