General Manager of Middle West Spirits, Josh “The Professor” Daily was in the Q studio for another I’d Tap That edition of the Joe Show Drive at 5. This time, Josh brought great holiday gift ideas for the whiskey lovers in your life – The Double Cask Collection and Bourbon Cream. Let’s break these down.
- The Middle West Oloroso Wheat Whiskey is crafted from Ohio-grown wheat and aged for several years in lightly toasted American white oak barrels, where it develops hints of vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Then, it’s transferred into sun-drenched Oloroso Sherry casks, where it acquires rich, nutty notes of black cherry, dark chocolate, and raisins for a smooth, complex finish. ABV: 49.75% (99.5 proof), also available in cask strength.
- Middle West Sherry-Finished Bourbon Whiskey is crafted from a blend of corn, wheat, and barley. It’s first aged in freshly toasted American white oak barrels, then in sun-blackened sherry casks that impart notes of cherry, plum, dates, and nutty dark chocolate for a smooth and complex taste. ABV: 48.63% (97.25 proof), also available in cask strength.
- NEW for 2021 – Middle West Spirits Ported Pumpernickel Rye Whiskey is aged in medium-toasted American White Oak barrels before being moved to sun-soaked French tawny port casks with soft notes of stone fruit, nutmeg, and spiced rye. ABV: 50% (100 proof), also available in cask strength.
- Middle West Spirits Bourbon Cream get yours before it sells out. This award-winning spirit is only available for a limited time. Once it’s gone, you’ll have to wait until next year to try this heaven in a bottle. MWS’ Bourbon Cream is made from Michelone Reserve Bourbon Whiskey blended with sweet cream for a rich and smooth small batch liqueur. Enjoy with coffee, hot cocoa, or eggnog, as a spirited addition to desserts, or straight up on the rocks. This is Archie’s favorite.
