Seventh Son Brewing

Archie welcomes partner and founder of Seventh Son Brewing, Collin Castore, to the inaugural “I’d Tap That” segment. Seventh Son Brewing has been crafting beer in Columbus’ historic Italian Village since April 20, 2013 and is located at 1101 North 4th street in Columbus. It’s a fun place to hang out with good vibes and great beers. Seventh son makes a lot of different styles – 160+ so far – including the two featured in studio.

  • Humulus Nimbus is a 6% pale ale. It’s hoppy and crisp and one of their first beers
  • Proliferous Double IPA features huge hop aroma and character.

The brewery is currently expanding onto their present building and hopes to be finished in the spring. It will have 15,000sq ft. of space and feature a rooftop patio with retractable roof.

A bit about partner and founder of Seventh Son Brewing, Collin Castore:

Growing up, Collin sold grilled cheese sandwiches, t-shirts, and beer in the parking lots of Grateful Dead concerts across the country. He has worked most every imaginable position in various Columbus restaurants and bars, studied English at the Ohio State University, founded a successful craft beer bar, had a couple of amazing kids, decided beer was more fun than food and sold the craft beer bar; and is currently happy to be focused on Seventh Son Brewing. Collin loves Ohio craft beer and feels extremely appreciative and humbled to be serving as president of the Ohio Craft Brewers Association. Collin considers himself unemployable in most of the public sector and is grateful that his wife has a real job. To try and maintain life outside of beer, Collin is learning clawhammer banjo and started playing tennis again.

Collin wants you to know that craft beer doesn’t have to be intimidating. There are 250 breweries in Ohio with 34 of those in Columbus. He encourages everyone to go visit each one where you’ll hear lots of good stories and meet many great personalities.
