Slane Irish Whiskey

Our buddy and Whiskey Ambassador to Brown-Forman, Pete Wagner, joined Archie in studio for another I’d Tap That edition of the Joe Show Drive at 5 to test his luck of the Irish and celebrate St. Paddy’s Day…a little early. Slane Irish Whiskey was on the menu for sampling. It’s a very versatile whiskey with a triple-casked aging process that adds to its warm golden hue, alluring aroma and remarkable taste. It’s aged new barrels, seasoned oak barrels formerly used for Jack Daniel’s and Woodford Reserve, and Oloroso sherry casks so you can taste the complexity in every sip. Slane is distilled at Slane Castle just outside of Dublin, Ireland surrounded by nature and steeped in history. Slane has a sustainable and conscious approach to distilling and uses modern equipment to create and craft every bottle of whiskey.

The castle is  notable for bringing rock music to the countryside. In a country where the biggest crowds were at Sunday mass, Slane Castle brought rock music to the masses. Each year the castle brings legendary bands to the property, including Metallica and U2, who actually recorded their chart-topping album “The Unforgettable Fire” at the castle. In honor of the album title, Pete created a quick shot using equal parts Slane Irish Whiskey and Jack Daniel’s Fire, which was happily sampled by the I’d Tap That crew. Archie was also introduced to a few other of Pete’s drinks, including an Irish Coffee, Irish Golden, and his home made Irish Cream – all made with Slane.

Slane Irish Whisky isn’t only for honoring your Irish heritage during St. Patrick’s Day. It’s available year-round. However, no matter when or how you choose to enjoy Slane Irish Whiskey, please remember to honor the legacy and sip/drink responsibly. Cheers!
