About Billy Joel

New York’s iconic native is considered one of the most beloved recording artists and esteemed entertainers in history. The singer/songwriter/composer is the sixth bestselling recording artist and the fourth-bestselling solo artist with more than 160 million records sold worldwide. His 1985 compilation album, “Greatest Hits Vol. 1 & 2,” is one of the bestselling albums in the United States. Joel’s songs have acted as personal and cultural touchstones for millions of people across five decades. Joel’s string of 33 Top 40 hits, all of which Joel has written himself, began with 1973’s autobiographical “Piano Man,” written while Joel was playing in a Los Angeles lounge. In 2016, the Library of Congress selected “Piano Man” for preservation in the National Recording Registry for its “cultural, historic and artistic significance.” The hits have continued for almost five decades, with three of Joel’s Top 40 songs – “It’s Still Rock and Roll To Me,” “Tell Her About It” and “We Didn’t Start The Fire” – peaking at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts and 23 Grammy nominations awarded to Joel since he signed his first recording contract in 1972. Joel is one of the most engaging and bestselling live performers of our time, with songs like “Uptown Girl,” “Just The Way You Are,” “The Longest Time” and “Vienna” – amongst countless others. In January 2014, Joel began Madison Square Garden’s first-ever music franchise performing one show at The Garden each month – Billboard Magazine called it “The Greatest Arena Run in History.” More than 50 years after his The Garden debut, after 10 years of sold-out shows, his final concert marked Joel’s 150th lifetime performance at the venue this past July. The long list of accolades awarded to Joel across his career is a testament to the reverence given to him by fans, critics, and fellow musicians alike. Joel was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by his idol Ray Charles in 1999 – Joel has received the RIAA’s Diamond Award twice for Greatest Hits Volume I & Volume II and The Stranger, presented for albums that have sold more than 10 million copies. He is the recipient of six GRAMMY Awards, including the prestigious Grammy Legend Award. Joel has been inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame including the prestigious Johnny Mercer Award. He was inducted by Barack and Michelle Obama at the 36th Annual Kennedy Center Honor and he received a TONY AWARD for “Movin’ Out,” a Broadway musical based on Joel’s music. As a humanitarian, The Joel Foundation has made and pledged more than $7 million in charitable donations with a focus on music education and humanitarian aid. In addition to supporting vital global relief efforts, The Joel Foundation provides grants to organizations throughout New York City and Long Island leveraging the power of music to enhance the lives of people of every age. Recently, The Joel Foundation announced the continuation of its long-term investment in Long Island’s only public arts high school, Long Island High School for the Arts (LIHSA), serving student artists in a pre-conservatory model with a focus on career and technical education.

ABOUT CHRISTONE “KINGFISH” INGRAM

“Ingram plays guitar with dramatic, searing tone and sure-handed authority. And that’s just in the studio; he’s even scarier live.” –NPR Music

“Kingfish is one of the most exciting young guitarists in years, with a sound that encompasses B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix and Prince.” –Rolling Stone

In just six years since his GRAMMY-nominated debut album Kingfish, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram has become a global blues sensation. Born and raised in Clarksdale, Mississippi — a town steeped in blues history — Ingram grew up just 10 miles from the legendary crossroads of Highways 61 and 49. Surrounded by a family of singers and musicians, his passion for music ignited at a young age. Starting with drums and bass, he soon found his true voice on the guitar.

Through classes at the Delta Blues Museum, Kingfish not only learned the rich history of the blues, but also honed his technical skills. Mentored by Richard “Daddy Rich” Crisman and the late Bill “Howl-N-Madd” Perry, he developed his own distinctive sound, blending influences from Robert Johnson, Lightnin’ Hopkins, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix, and Prince. Perry also gave him the now-iconic “Kingfish” moniker. His talent quickly took him from local stages at Clarksdale’s Ground Zero Blues Club and Red’s Lounge to venues across the U.S. and abroad — all while still in high school.

Kingfish’s rise to fame was fueled by his electrifying live performances and viral videos, which amassed millions of views even before his debut album. One of several breakout moments came when his performance videos caught the eye of the Luke Cage producers, leading to a guest spot in the show and a subsequent NPR Tiny Desk Concert appearance alongside rap legend Rakim. After his debut album Kingfish topped the Billboard Blues Chart for 91 weeks and earned a GRAMMY nomination, Ingram followed up with his 2021 release 662, which also debuted at #1. The album earned him his first GRAMMY for Best Contemporary Blues Album and was hailed by NPR as “astounding.” Since then, Kingfish has been honored with 12 Blues Music Awards and 11 Living Blues Awards.

In 2023, Kingfish continued to solidify his place in contemporary blues with the release of Live in London. Capturing the raw energy and passion of his live shows, the album showcases his powerful guitar work, soul-stirring vocals, and the connection he forges with his audience. Praised for its authenticity and emotional depth, Live in London stands as a testament to Kingfish’s growing influence and his ability to bring modern blues to a global audience.

Kingfish’s natural talent continues to flourish through his relentless touring, writing, and recording. With his jaw-dropping guitar prowess and captivating vocals, he delivers contemporary blues that resonate with audiences worldwide. Whether headlining his own tours or sharing stages with legends like Buddy Guy, Jason Isbell, and The Rolling Stones, Kingfish remains a dynamic force in modern blues — a young artist who respects the past while blazing his own trail.

GOT BACK 2025 – THE TOUR CONTINUES
First North American Tour Since 2022

Following his historic three-night stand at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom earlier this year — hailed by BILLBOARD as “a religious experience” and moving NPR to rave “Paul McCartney has so much swag it’s ridiculous” — Paul McCartney and his acclaimed Got Back Tour will make their wildly anticipated return to North America this fall.

Got Back’s 2025 run of 19 newly announced dates marks Paul’s first extensive series of shows across the US and Canada since 2022. The tour kicks off September 29th with Paul’s Greater Palm Springs area live debut at Acrisure Arena and runs through to a November 24-25th finale at the United Center in Chicago. Got Back 2025 will feature Paul’s long-awaited return to Las Vegas, Denver, Des Moines, Minneapolis, Tulsa, New Orleans, Atlanta, Nashville, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Montreal, and
Hamilton – plus a few cities that will be hosting their first-ever Paul McCartney concerts, Albuquerque and the aforementioned Greater Palm Springs area.

General on sale for these Got Back tour dates will begin July 18th at 10am local time. For further information, pre-sales etc., check paulmccartneygotback.com.

Irrefutably one of the most successful and influential singer-songwriters and performers of all time, McCartney’s concerts bring to life the most beloved catalogue in music. With songs like “Hey Jude,” “Live and Let Die,” “Band on the Run,” “Let It Be” and so many more, the Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show and more: hours of the greatest moments from the last 60 years of music – dozens of songs from Paul’s solo, Wings and of course Beatles songbooks that have formed the soundtracks of our lives.

Paul McCartney launched his Got Back tour in 2022 with16 sold out shows across the US that led up to his history-making set at Glastonbury in June 2022. In 2023 Paul performed 18 shows as Got Back rocked through Australia, Mexico and Brazil. In 2024, Paul amazed capacity crowds at more than 20 dates spanning from South America and Mexico to the UK and Europe.

Paul McCartney’s live shows have continued to wow fans and inspire new levels of acclaim from critics the world over, with recent raves from the U.S. media including:

“Seeing Paul McCartney live remains a bit of a religious experience” — BILLBOARD

“Remarkable… This is the magic trick I was talking about, something The Beatles mastered before anyone else: to be pure showbiz and shockingly new at the same time, to know your biz completely and still, somehow, not be bored… To make genius look effortless, funny and fun… he played piano, bass, guitar and ukulele; he spun out indelible riffs without fuss or fanfare, and when he rolled up his sleeves and leaned into the innuendo of ‘Let Me Roll It,’ the years fell away and his hyper-competence turned into that swag, an unfaded allure.” — NPR

“These songs appear to have a restorative effect on McCartney, as if he draws from the same well of youthful energy and happy memories that all Beatle fans do upon hearing their music… No wonder he never stops. Neither have his fans, who seem to grow younger every year.” — PEOPLE

“It was among the most touchingly normal miracles I’ve ever experienced… ‘Some of us have to get some sleep, you know,’ McCartney said, after ‘Let It Be.’ But he didn’t look like an old man in need of sleep. He looked like Paul McCartney. Forever returning for another curtain call, another formal bow before the crowd, a man soaking in the energy emitted by fans like a cat in the sun.” — PITCHFORK

“Everybody in the room was having the night of our lives — but nobody was having more fun than Paul… all boyish energy and vigor… it was devastatingly powerful to hear Paul sing ‘Now and Then’ in the city where John wrote it, bringing it all back home. It was a moment that felt intensely private — as if we were eavesdropping on the two of them — yet massive… the whole show was a joyful explosion” — ROLLING STONE

“An icon among icons… a vision of graceful nonchalance” — USA TODAY

“As always, McCartney switched between bass, guitar and piano, and he was in strong voice, hitting essential high notes with ease… a once-in-a-lifetime moment” — VARIETY

Paul and his band have performed in an unparalleled range of venues and locations worldwide: From outside the Colosseum in Rome, Moscow’s Red Square, Buckingham Palace, The White House and a free show in Mexico for over 400,000 people to the last ever show at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park where The Beatles played their final concert in 1966, a 2016 week in the California desert that included two headline sets at the historic Desert Trip festival and a jam-packed club gig for a few hundred lucky fans at Pappy & Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace, two Glastonbury Festival headline slots, rocking the Bowery in New York City for a week of spontaneous club shows, and even one performance broadcast live into Space!

Featuring Paul’s longtime band – Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums) – and constantly upgraded state of the art audio and video technology that ensures an unforgettable experience from every seat in the house, a Paul McCartney concert is never anything short of life-changing. The Got Back Tour also features the Hot City Horns — Mike Davis (trumpet), Kenji Fenton (saxes) and Paul Burton (trombone) — who first joined Paul in 2018 to perform at Grand Central Station ahead of embarking on the Freshen Up World Tour in the same year.
